Frederick "Rick" C. Myers 82 of Fremont passed away on March 7, 2023 at Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1940 to the late Fred W. Myers and Lucille (Waggoner) Paden.
Rick was a 1958 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. He taught his first year at Lakota High School and then for 34 years in the Fremont City School District.
On September 2, 1960, Rick married the love of his life, Martha Deichert and have shared over 62 years together.
Active in his community, Rick was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was on the church council and a chairman with the church trustees. He enjoyed participating in Love Your Neighbor Day, and was a former member of the Fremont Kiwanis.
Rick was always very proud of his grandchildren and found great joy in his great-granddaughters. During his high school and collegiate career, he enjoyed playing tennis, and later on spent his free time woodworking, biking, and spending time outdoors.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha; children, Kim (Jim) Wasserman of St. Joseph, MI, Kelly (David) Wickline of Fort Wright, KY, Tom (Asia) Myers of Zionsville, IN, and Rob (Beth) Myers of Boise, ID; grandchildren, Zak Wasserman, Jordan Smith, Gabriella Myers, Macy Myers, and Lily Myers; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Abigail Smith; sister, Dianna Kraak; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Herbert Paden and sister, Sharon Williams.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10:00-11:30AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fremont with services to follow visitation. Burial will be private for the family.
Donations in Rick's name may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to a cause of the donor's choice.
