Frederick William Puelle, (91), of Rocky Hill, CT, died December 28, 2025 in Hartford, CT.

Fred was born on July 6, 1934 to Lydia and Frederick M. E. Puelle in Brooklyn, NY.

He attended Concordia College, in Bronxville, NY, and Concordia Seminary, in St. Louis, MO. He was an ordained Lutheran minister, serving parishes for more than fifty years in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York.

Fred married Doris M. Sulahian on June 16, 1957 and they had five children: Frederick, Edward, David, Louise, and Michael.

Fred Puelle was a family man, an avid reader, enjoyed his walks and hikes outdoors, loved the Metropolitan Opera and New York Mets baseball, and liked to fiddle with the English language and his paints.

Fred is survived by his children Fred and Rose Puelle, Dave and Betsy Puelle, Louise and Joe Courchaine, and Mike Puelle; his grandchildren Margaret Puelle, Rachel and Colin Worrich, Rebecca and Jimmy Wilkinson, Edward Courvan, Henry Courchaine, and Eli Puelle; his first great grandchild Louella Worrich; his brother Richard Puelle, his sister Virginia Puelle, his in-laws Vivian and Mark Lindemann, and a fun-loving crew of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lydia Puelle, his first wife Doris Puelle, their son Edward Puelle, his brother John Puelle, and his in-laws Gerry Puelle, Bill Sulahian, and Pat Sulahian.

A celebration of Fred's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Fred demonstrated generosity and care throughout his life.
