Frederick Lee Schlemmer age 93, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania passed from this world after a long, full life, on December 11, 2022 in his own home in Enon, Ohio, surrounded by many who loved him. Born September 2, 1929 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Arthur Clyde Schlemmer and Nan Barr Schlemmer. Fritz had five brothers and sisters.

Fritz proudly served our country in the US Air Force for 30 years. He was one of the original hurricane hunters in Bermuda. During his military career he enjoyed great adventures with his family in Bermuda, Germany, Holland, Venice, Massachusetts and many more beautiful places.

In his free time, Fritz enjoyed traveling, walking, hiking, playing cribbage with wine, gardening, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand-children. In retirement, he and his wife Jane took their RV to all of the lower 48, frequenting our national parks and stopping in to visit their many friends and family members.

Fritz will be remembered for his sense of humor (his relationships were full of good natured jokes and pranks), his integrity and reliability ("to be late, is to lie", he would say), his love for his sweetheart (he and Jane's marriage was full of affection), and his sense of adventure (it started when he began flying into hurricanes and never quite left).

Above all, he was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a lifelong friend, and a hilarious grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 73 years Evelyn Jane Schlemmer, his 2 daughters, Joyce Bulger and Patty Ray, his grand-children, including great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, Hope, Layla, Genevieve, Nora, August, Amanda, Ava, Aly, Adeline, Jami, Arianna, Eli, Jozalynn, Isaiah, Cole, Christy, Bella, Cora, Angie, Bri, Jaylin, Austin, Maddie, Nora, Avery, Gabe, Abby, Sherri, Briley, Chelsea, Marissa, Aysha, Mason, Carson, Chad, Alexia, Davie, Matt and his sister, Lois Schlemmer. He is looking forward to being reunited with his son Chuck Schlemmer, who passed in 1974.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Newcomer Centerville Chapel - 820 Miamisburg Centerville Rd, Dayton, OH 45459. A memorial service with full military honors to follow.
