Frederick Wayne Scoville, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2025. He was a sweet, kind, and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

He was born October 5, 1937 to Rudolf and Evelyn Scoville in Canton, Ohio. Fred attended McKinley High School and played for the varsity baseball team. Right after high school he Joined the Navy and proudly served for 4 years. After his service he went on to study at Kent State University and received his degree in education. He taught in the Canton City School District for 25 years as a math teacher.

Fred loved people, loved to talk, and loved to help. He volunteered for the crisis hot line for many years. He was passionate about Ohio Sports, especially the Browns and the Guardians...forever the Indians to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Evelyn, brothers,Ted and Marvin, and sister-in-law Diane.

He is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Myrna, children Randy (Shelley), Stacy Rabbitt (Jeff), Step sons Greg DeMatteis (Tina), Jeff DeMatteis (Andre), and Eric DeMatteis (Amanda), and his 8 grandchildren, Kristen, Makenzie, Michele, Griffin, Sofia, Skylar, Nic and Broc.

Rest easy now. We love you.

A memorial service will be held for family at a date to be determined. Online condolences and fond memories may be left for the family at www.reedfuneralhome.com.
