Frederick Weaver Obituary
Frederick Garth "Rick" Weaver, 82, of Barrington, died peacefully in his home on July 26, 2025.
Rick was born in Union City, Indiana on May 22, 1943, to parents, Willard Murrell and June Rowena (nee Wilson) Weaver. He married Rita Conklin on June 19, 1965, and together they had three sons.
Rick had an academic mind, receiving his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University, his master's degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University, his executive MBA from University of Denver, and he also studied at Northwestern Kellogg School of Business.
He worked at Air Products & Chemicals in Allentown, Pennsylvania and at Universal Oil Products (UOP) in Illinois.
Following his retirement, he spent countless hours tutoring at the Huntington Learning Center in Barrington, and privately taught ACT and SAT prep classes for math and science.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Rita Weaver; his sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Weaver, and Jason (Priya) Weaver; his grandchildren, Lauren, Katelyn, Sonia, and Alex; his brother, James (Carol) Weaver; his niece, Stacie (Rich) Hancock; and his great-nieces, Courtney and Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marc Weaver.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 9 a.m. to time of Mass 10:30 a.m. all at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, IL 60010. Mass will be livestreamed on St. Anne's website: www.stannebarrington.org.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick's name can be made to the Marc Christopher Weaver Memorial Scholarship at Purdue University, https://giving.purdue.edu/cart?dids=011254&appealcode=21896.
