Frederick D. "Fred" Williams III, age 83, of Middletown, DE, formerly of Northfield, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Born on April 9, 1938 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Emma (Eley) and Frederick D. Williams, Jr. After graduating from Atlantic City High School in 1956, Fred proudly enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve. While in the reserves, he worked with his father as a bricklayer. Fred went on to work for New Jersey Bell where he dedicated 33 years as an installer and repairman. A hard working man who was not one to sit still, he also worked as a transit bus driver for many years.

Fred enjoyed fixing and building all kinds of things. In his spare time, he and his wife, Barbara, spent many great times on the lake fishing and enjoyed going on cruises.

In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (Raube) Williams, Fred will be dearly missed by his children, Diane Gehlhaus, Frederick D. Williams IV (Rebecca), and Anthony Williams (Angela); and his 6 grandchildren, Jenna, Taylor, Anthony, Jr., Zoe, Elena, and Sophia.

A memorial service will be held privately.
