Frederick Alan Wurgler of Leesburg, Florida born in Warren, Ohio on August 15,1951 passed away at his home on January 6, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Dotson-Wurgler, they were united by marriage on July 7th, 2007; his children, Dorothea Wurgler of Leesburg, FL, and Frederick Wurgler, Jr. (Amanda) Eustis, FL; stepchildren, Terry Williams (Linda) of Printer, KY, Johnnie Williams (Glenda) of Kimper, KY, Regina Conn (Ronald) of Pikeville, KY, Crystal Leedy of Raccoon, KY; and grandchildren; Austin, Christopher, Isaiah, Jacob, Nathanael and Addyson and step grandchildren, Michael, Skylar, Tanner, Erika, Brooke and Gaige; and sisters Carol Kinder (Thomas) and Beverly Burrows.
He is preceded by: his father, Elmer Wurgler; mother Dorothea Virginia Wurgler; brothers Richard, Howard and Robert "Bobby" and grandson Sabastian.
Fred moved from Ohio to Florida in 1985. He worked in Aluminum Manufacturing and retired from Metals USA of Groveland, Florida after 21 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with the love of his life Barbara traveling to Kentucky where they planned to live in the near future. He fell in love with the Kentucky mountain scenery.
Fred loved his family as well as his extended family with all of his heart and appreciated the time they spent with him. We want to thank Fred's best friend of many years Paul Wosnock, including the wonderful friends he has made through the years; his dedicated family physician and family friend Dr. Peter Ankoh as well as the many physicians nurses and staff that have given him the utmost medical care.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January, 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with services beginning at 7:00 PM, Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, 1123 West Main Street Leesburg, FL 34748. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2024, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Piney Woods Mission Church Cemetery.
