Fredrick Coleman, Sr. Fredrick Coleman Sr., 45, of Dermott, Arkansas, passed away on July 31, 2025, at Delta Memorial Hospital in Dumas, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church 1109 North School Street, Dermott, Arkansas. Pastor Michael Wolfe, officiating.
Fredrick was born on April 18, 1980, in Dermott, Arkansas, to the late Oscar Coleman, Jr. and Geraldine Wright Coleman.
Fredrick was raised in a loving, faith-filled home. At an early age, he confessed his belief in Christ at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.L. Plummer, Sr. A proud graduate of the Dermott High School, Class of 2000, Fredrick went on to build a life rooted in dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. He married the love of his life. Venus Presley, on February 8, 2008, and together they built a beautiful family.
Fredrick was the proud father of six children: Marcus Presley, Zarriah Bryant, Fredrick Coleman, Jr., Kendrick Coleman, Zederick Coleman, and Kyleigh Coleman. He adored his two granddaughters, Braylie Moore and Jai'lei Coleman, who brought him great joy.
Professionally, Fredrick served with honor at the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 15 years, beginning in 2010. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, he was recognized for his exceptional service in 2022 with the Director's Outstanding Service Award, presented by Director Payne, for his valuable contributions at the Cummins Unit.
In addition to his career in corrections, Fredrick was a passionate entrepreneur. In 2020, he founded Coleman's Lawn Service, where he proudly worked as the sole owner and operator, serving his community with diligence and pride.
In his spare time. Fredrick enjoyed one of his favorite pastimes-playing pool. Whether it was a friendly match or a competitive game, he found joy and relaxation in the sport.
Fredrick's life reflected strength, independence, and unwavering commitment. He was a man known for his hard work, deep respect for others, and a love for family that was evident in every role he fulfilled-husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Geraldine Wright Coleman; his father, Oscar Coleman, Jr.; seven siblings; and his cherished mother-in-law, Brenda Presley.
He leaves behind a large, loving family, including: siblings; Detris Hurd (Barney) - Beloit, Wisconsin; Brenda Robinson - Little Rock, Arkansas, Yvette Turner (Derrick) - West Chester, Illinois, Oscar Coleman, III - Elgin, Illinois, Tolise Harris (Bonnie, Jr.) - Beloit, Wisconsin, Hope Thompson Moore (Bing) - Bastrop, Louisiana, Anna Green (Bruce, Sr.) - Monticello, Arkansas, Al Coleman (Larissa) - Schaumburg, Illinois, LaTonya Evans - Dermott, Arkansas, Kenneth Coleman - Dermott, Arkansas, Mary Coleman - West Chicago, Illinois, Joy Alfakih (Yousef) - Jackson, Mississippi; Kimberly Simpson (Tyrone) - Dermott, Arkansas, Titus Coleman (Mashima) - Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Yvonne Coleman - Dermott, Arkansas; Aunts, Claudine Wright Mumphrey - Dermott, Arkansas, and Alberta Coleman - Chicago, Illinois; Special lifelong friends, Lawrence Carter and Al Carter. Fredrick cherished them as brothers, and their bond remained strong throughout the years. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Nephews also remain to cherish his memory.
Fredrick will be remembered as a loving, hardworking, strong, independent, motivated, and respectable man. His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
