Fredrick (Stanley) Hutchison, age 80, died in Albuquerque, NM on July 22, 2024 at home with his family. Fred (Stan) Hutchison was born Feb 10, 1944 to Florence and Howard Hutchison. Fred loved to work on grandpa and grandma Dazel's farm, planting crops, driving the tractor and tending to the livestock. At the age of 17, Fred joined the military (Army), retiring with distinction after serving 26 years. He also retired from the civil service serving 22 years with Border Patrol and Homeland Security. He married Margaret (Peggy) Shugarts in Walhalla, North Dakota in May, 1966 and they lived together for 58 years.
Fred is survived by his wife, Margaret Hutchison (Shugarts); his sons, Steve (Lisa) Verville, Ames Iowa, James Hutchison, Albuquerque; daughters, Beverly (Scott) Gegg, Pittsburg, Kansas and Michele Ortega, Roswell, New Mexico; sisters, Carole (Lyle) Schneider, Langdon, North Dakota, Patricia (James) White and brother Carey (Mavis) Hutchison, San Antonio, Texas. Fred is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Howard and brother, Terry.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 10 am at French Funerals and Cremations - Westside on 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87114.
Interment will be held privately at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
