Fredrick Jason Kinney

Frederick Jason Kinney CEDAR FALLS - Jason Kinney, 46, of Cedar Falls passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024. Jason was born May 26, 1978 in Randolph County, N.C. the son of Freddy and Kristy Kinney. He grew up in Cedar Falls area. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Kinney of Cedar Falls, N.C.; sons, Jonathan Kinney, Jason Kinney (LJ), and his youngest beloved son, Waylon Kinney brother Zackary Kinney and two sisters, Jennifer Hofstad and Melissa Allred and many nieces and nephews; He is preceded in death by his mother, Kristy Kinney, and his noble dog Sir Tazz. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Because Jason was so full of life and made "Jokey Jokes" during serious situations we thought this next passage would be fitting. Jason was a very smart, understanding, funny, stubborn, caring, loving, generous, and a compassionate; father, husband, son, uncle, & friend. He doted on his best friend, savage, loving, bossy (he loved it) wife Samantha for almost 16 years by getting her a glass of milk every night; that she never drank, he would say. He instilled countless hours at the kitchen island of intellectual debates full of thoughts and theories with his children Jonny, LJ, & youngest Waylon of whom he was so proud knowing they can change the world. Jason enjoyed spending time with his wife, working with his buddy Logan, long conversations with his colorful crazy honest Mother-In-Law, Nancie; naps with his noble dog Tazz on Sundays watching the race only to wake up for the checkered flag. He loved his family, lazy days, cars and hated answering his phone, ignorant people, and right-wing politics. His family is having a celebration of life that will be held at home on Sat. Nov 2, 2024 at 3PM. He would say"Hope to see ya there", his favorite music will be played, and he would hope that you remeber him fondly with a smile.
