Fredrick "Fred" A. Strasser, age 46, of Summit, SD passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at his residence. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hope Lutheran Church in Summit. Rev. Janet Miller will officiate. Music will be provided by Val Moen as Organist and Keith Strasser as Vocalist.
Visitation will be at the Hope Lutheran Church in Summit on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in rural Summit.
Fredrick Adam Strasser was born on April 27th, 1977 to Royce and Mitzi (Grabow) Strasser at Memorial Hospital in Watertown, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Summit where he was currently teaching Sunday School.
Fred graduated in 1995 from Summit Public High School where he represented his school in All State Chorus for four years. He also played Basketball for the Eagles and Football with the Waubay-Summit Panther's team. He went on to further his education at Black Hills State University pursuing a degree in music. He worked on Cell phone towers with the Larson brothers after college and also was an EMT and fireman for the Watertown Fire Department and Fargo Fire Departments. He also served as a volunteer on the Summit Fire Department.
Fred was a loving father to his daughter Louella. Fred demonstrated his compassionate nature as he cared for his mother during her extended illness prior to her death and was currently helping with his dad's care.
Fredrick is survived by his daughter, Louella; father Royce Strasser, Summit; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mitzi Strasser; and his paternal, maternal grandparents.
