Strasser, Samuel Aronowitz
DELMAR - Samuel Aronowitz Strasser, who frequently expressed gratitude for the miracle of life, died at home on Thursday, January 29, 2026. He was 95.
Born on June 4, 1930, to Myron and Grace Strasser, he graduated from Albany High School, earned his Bbachelor's degree from Colgate University, and served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. The Albany native devoted over 65 years to his family's business, Pak-Wik Corp.
A philanthropist, he gave his time and resources to many causes, including the local NAACP, SUNY's Chapel House, and Northeast Career Planning.
A family patriarch, he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Henda Strasser; his daughters, Carolyn Humphreys and Laurie Fischer; their children; his stepchildren, Janine Cifelli, Romi Hansen and Jeffrey Ellman; their children; and his nephew, Myron Strasser Jr.
The funeral will be on Sunday, February 1, at 1:30 p.m., at Temple Beth Emeth, in Albany. The funeral services will be livestreamed on the Congregation Beth Emeth website, at cbealbany.org

Sam Strasser was a man to be admired and respected. His outlook on life was always positive. He cared deeply about all people regardless of their background. Sam will be missed for his sense of humor, but his memory will live on.
