Freeman L. Gladd III

The world lost one of its brightest lights (and the best darn electrician in the Poconos) on Monday, November 17th, 2025. Freeman Leo Gladd III, 1988 founder of Albright Electric, was taken from us far too soon in an icy wreck on the freeway. Freeman was abundantly loved by so many friends and family – too many to count.
He is survived by his loving soulmate and goddess of 27 years, Debbie. He is also survived by his mother, Gloria, his sister, Jessie, and his children: Alexandria, Aleah (Jeremiah), Pamela (Caleb), JT (Samantha), and Austin. Pop-pop/Papa was also survived by ten grandchildren: Liam, Bryce, Ben, Xariya, Jaya, Leo, Aston, Bentley, Astro, and Ethan. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Anyone who had the pleasure to interact with Freeman – whether they were the hairstylist at Woody's, the cashier at Dunkin, or the person who happened to be sitting next to him on the airplane – will have a hard time forgetting him. He left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He was as tenacious as he was stubborn (he wanted to improve his vocabulary, so he started memorizing interesting words in the dictionary). He was so proud of his kids that he more often than not jokingly took credit for their successes. He was known for his loving pep-talks and jokes of all kinds and had a smile worth a million dollars to match. He was affectionally called Free-Free at the inevitable moment he said something off the wall. "What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?" "El-if-I-know." His laughter will be painfully missed.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
