Freeman May Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferguson Funeral Home - Plain City on Dec. 11, 2025.
Freeman May, 92, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 8, 1933, in the hills of West Virginia, Freeman carried his deep pride in his home state throughout his life.
Freeman honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from July 14, 1953, to July 8, 1957. His service instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty, integrity, and devotion to others-qualities that defined him long after his military years.
A dedicated public servant, Freeman spent many years as a Trustee for Jerome Township, where he took great pride in caring for the community and ensuring it continued to grow and thrive. He was known as someone who would always lend a hand-whether to a neighbor, friend, or family member-never hesitating to step in when he was needed.
Freeman enjoyed spending his days hunting, sharing stories, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His love for family was constant and unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He was a lifelong fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Columbus Blue Jackets, cheering loudly and proudly for his favorite teams.
Freeman is survived by his loving wife, Karolina May, and his family: Cindy and Steve MacDonald, and Dee and Kent Anders, along with his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Rick May.
Freeman will be remembered for his kindness, his steady presence, and his deep commitment to those he loved and the community he served. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th, 2025 from 9 AM-10AM at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 East Main Street Plain City, Ohio 43064. A funeral service will follow at 10 AM with Pastor Phil Conrad officiating. Interment to follow at Jerome Township Cemetery, Plain City, Ohio with full military honors presiding.
