Frieda A. Peebles

Frieda AnnMarie Peebles, daughter of the late Florence Hardy and late Bobby Crawley departed her life on August 2, 2023 at Bon Secours Hospital of Petersburg, VA. She was born February 17, 1968 in Nottaway County, VA.
Frieda graduated from Nottoway County Public School System in 1987 where she was notoriously known for her record holding shot put performance and dancing skills. She went on to graduate from Southside Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Frieda was introduced to Christ at an early age where she attended Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church of Blackstone, VA. She later continued her worshipping services at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Freeman, VA. In 2003, she moved to Emporia, VA with her Loving husband Michael Peebles Sr. and endearing son Michael Peebles Jr. to be closer to her employment. Frieda worked many jobs however, she devoted 27 years and retired from the Department of Corrections.
Frieda enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and talking on the phone with family and friends. She had a giving and loving spirit like no other. She will be sincerely missed by all that knew and loved her.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: her husband Michael of 34 years; her son, Michael Jr.; one Brother, Kevin Hardy (Senethia) of Richmond, VA; one sister Adenia Crawley of Quantico, VA; a devoted (mother-like Aunt), Sallie Washington (Wayne) of Blackstone, VA; a longtime (father-like) friend, William Bragg; three (sister-like) cousins, Kimberly Mason (Raymond) of Hopewell, VA, LaWanda Lanehart (Maurice) of Richmond, VA and Sharon Jones of Florida; four nieces, Yesenia Hardy, Alejandra Jalila Crawley-Howell, Asima Crawley-Howell and Angelos Saliu all of Quantico, VA; adored by aunts and uncles, Bertha Hardy, Hazel Fields, Donna Mason (Derek), Lawrence Hardy, Paul Hardy (Beverly), and Earl Hardy (Wilma) all of Blackstone, VA; a loving nurturing mother-in-law, Pauline Peebles; five sisters-in-law, Mayzola, Virgie, Vanessa Knox (Lyles), Mable, and one dedicated sister-in-law Bonnie; three brothers-in-law, Jerry (Thelma), Andy(Linda), and Govie Peebles (Sabrina); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
