Frieda Ross age 86, went into the arms of Jesus on 12/12/25. Frieda was born September 18, 1939, in DeNoya, Osage County, Oklahoma, the first of three children born to William (Bill) and Goldie (Dunn) Alberty. She received her education in the Shidler and Webb City, Oklahoma, starting first grade there and graduating with the class of 1957. She married Donald Ross on August 24, 1958, at the First Christian Church in Shidler. They were married 52 and a half years before his death on February 4, 2011. In August of 1960, Frieda, Don and four-month-old son, Mark, moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where Don began his career as a diesel mechanic and in 1976 co-owner of Larry and Don's Diesel Repair. A second son, Brian, was born in 1964 in Hobbs.
Frieda loved her family and spending time with her two sons. She loved her church family in Hobbs. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Hobbs, serving as president of the Ladies Fellowship for many years. She taught Sunday School and directed VBS for many years. She also served as the office secretary for thirty-three and a half years, retiring in March 2020. she enjoyed attending Guadalupe Christian Camp in Queen, New Mexico. Having attended the Ladies Retreat for many years. She served as treasurer, secretary, and dean of the retreat for six years and fifteen years served as co-director. She was also a member of the Southeastern New Mexico Genealogical Society, having served as treasurer, secretary and served as president for eleven years. Frieda operated the church pre-school for ten years and worked as a Tupperware Manager for five years before becoming the church secretary.
Frieda enjoyed genealogy, reading, traveling, and making memory books.
Frieda is survived by her sons Mark and wife Tammy of California City, California, and Brian and wife Frances of Hobbs, New Mexico. Sister and brother-in-law Nelda (Alberty) and Marvin (Butch) Harmon of Shidler, Oklahoma. Nieces, Kelly Harmon Fansler and husband John of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Lezli Harmon Garrison and husband Charley of Foraker, Oklahoma. A nephew, Marvin Harmon and wife Julie of Wyandotte, Oklahoma. Aunt, Credia Alberty Givens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ross, her parents, Bill and Goldie Alberty, and her brother, Danny Alberty.
