Fulton Eugene Rivers "Catfish" 1957-2025

The man who never met a stranger, Fulton Eugene Rivers, 67 of Cove Texas was unexpectedly and tragically taken from us on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Born in Wiesbaden, Germany on December 27, 1957 to parents Fulton Eugene and Sara Rivers, he knew pain early in life when his parents were killed in a car accident when he was just 12 years old.

A crane operator for the ILA 28, he worked hard to provide for his family and was a dedicated worker there for over 30 years.

He had one constant in his life, Lamont Pearce. More accurately described as brothers as they were only a year apart, these cousins spent their lives connected to each other.

Fulton has two beautiful daughters born with Renee Rivers: Sara Rivers (Nathan Mabe) of Baytown Texas and Claire Rivers of Houston Texas. Sara added to the family by giving birth to three sons, Hunter, Evan and Owen. His love for his daughters and grandsons was ever present.

Fulton always had a soft spot for dogs. Less than a month before his passing, a fifth rescue joined the family when he insisted he wanted a puppy. He had a special love for all the furbabies but there was no question that Peaches was his sidekick.

Fulton and Gina married November 13, 2016 and created their home in Cove Texas. A very loving husband, he stayed dedicated to his wife while she fought breast cancer. Staying beside her for almost every moment for seven months, his research and fascination with the CAF grew. He became a very active member of the Commemorative Air Force Gulf Coast Wing. Strong friendships were built as he attended more and more air shows. His passion for the planes was contagious and shared with members and visitors alike.

Should you feel compelled, you can help support Gina Rivers in covering unexpected final expenses and to help her while she navigates through the next couple of months. Any money received over those expenses will be donated to a dog rescue in honor of Fulton "Catfish" Rivers. (Venmo: GinaRivers)

A celebration of life will be held sometime early next year. A larger than life man deserves a larger than life celebration.
