G. Carpenter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Jul. 10, 2024.
G. Robert Carpenter, beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on the morning of July 5, 2024 unexpectedly. Born to the late Charlie and Dot Carpenter at Ft. Benning, Georgia on June 10th, 1951; Bob is survived by his wife, Sonia Carpenter; sister, Marjo & husband Dave; brother, John & wife Melinda; nephew, Scott; nieces, Shauna & husband Dustin and Kate.
In his early years, Bob enjoyed studying Greek Mythology, and he was an avid reader throughout his life. He graduated from Putnam City High School and attended college at Oklahoma City Community College and graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law with a Juris Prudence Doctoral degree; later specializing in corporate law, wills and trusts. Bob used this background and his caring personality to build a distinguished career in law with time spent turning colleagues and clients into lifelong friends.
Bob met his wife, Sonia, the love of his life, in Oklahoma City nearly 30 years ago and they became inseparable. Together they enjoyed time spent with family and friends, traveling often to the Florida Keys for vacations watching speed boat racing, scuba diving, enjoying delectable seafood, walking around town and going to the beach.
Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors, a gift that he always shared with those around him. He was passionate about gardening, grilling, gourmet cooking, shooting guns and building projects with wood. You could always find him either out in his yard hard at work, riding his motorcycle, enjoying the pool and outdoor kitchen which he built or playing with his dogs, Pita and Paulie. One of his greatest passions was his love for dogs and rescuing dogs, beginning with his first dog, Crowbar. He was also wonderful with children and had a playful way of capturing their imagination.
The light that Bob brought into our lives will be forever loved and remembered by his wife, family and friends.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel at 3925 N Asbury Ave, Bethany, OK 73008 at 10:00 on Thursday, July 18, 2024. All family and friends are welcome.
Bob enjoyed flowers, but if you would rather make a charitable contribution in his honor, consider Fetch Fido a Flight at PO Box 1166, Edmond, OK 73083. You may make donations payable to Fetch Fido a Flight.
