Gabriel Dominguez was born on December 2, 1954, in Laredo, Texas. He passed away in his sleep on January 20, 2025 in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Gabriel is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Anna Dominguez; his firstborn son, Adrian Dominguez; parents, Esteban and Flora Dominguez; brother, Jesus Dominguez; sister, Olga Jackson, and grandson, Gabriel Dominguez III.
Gabriel is survived by his son, Gabriel Dominguez Jr; daughters, Brandy and Cynthia Dominguez, brothers, Steve, Joe, and Carlos Dominguez; sisters, Leonor Garcia, Josie Herevia, and Hilda Reyna; 10 grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Gabriel went to Woodrow Wilson High School where he went on to serve in the United States Army.
Gabriel met the love of his life, Mary, and the two were married on July 16, 1982. They had just celebrated 39 years of marriage prior to Mary passing away on August 10, 2021. Together they had three children.
Gabriel worked for many years in the glass industry as a driver and in the warehouse. He had a great work ethic and did all he could to make sure his family was always taken care of. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers play. He was a devoted fan. Some of his greatest memories was taking his kids to three Super Bowl parades for the Dallas Cowboys and recently taking his grandkids to the Texas Rangers World Series parade.
Gabriel grew up in a big family. He loved family get-togethers. Some of his greatest memories consisted of time spent with his brothers and sisters. He loved each one of them and made it a point to try and see them as often as he could. If he could help one of them out, he would do so with no questions asked. They loved him back equally and took the time to call, text, and visit as much as they could.
Gabriel and Mary lived with their daughter, Brandy, and her three daughters, for over 12 years. They were both able to stop working during this time so they could focus on their health and enjoy life as grandparents. Brandy served selflessly as their caregiver and she frequently advocated for their best interest. There were many great memories made as well as moments that were not so great.
Gabriel was a proud grandpa to 10 grandkids. He loved each one of them. He was particularly close to three of his granddaughters, Olivia, Savanna, and Aryanna. The bond he shared with them was unlike any other. There was nothing he would not do for them. Aryanna could do no wrong in his eyes even if facts said otherwise. She was his best friend. Anywhere Gabriel went, you can almost bet Aryanna was right there with him. Savanna and Olivia were both the entertainment. Gabriel looked forward to them coming home from school or work so that he could hear about the drama for that day. Gabriel was able to attend many school events and he would even take the time to go have lunch with them or drop off lunch to them. Through the good and the bad, he was consistently there for them. Gabriel made sure each of them knew how much he loved them, how proud he was of them, and how grateful he was for them.
On behalf of the Dominguez family, we thank you for all of the unconditional love and support. We are now left to grieve Gabriel, as many will dearly miss him. While our hearts were not ready to let Gabriel go, we will eventually understand and will come to terms that God was ready to comfort him, hold him in his arms, and to heal him. He is now in Heaven celebrating his new life while being reunited with many family members and friends who have left this World before him.
