Gabriel Escandon Sanchez, age 65, of Forest Park, Georgia, passed away on March 17, 2026. He was born on March 24, 1960, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Rosalio Escandon Vazquez and Juana Sanchez Quistian.

Gabriel was a distinguished machine operator specializing in pipe laying. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he found joy in caring for his home and garden. He loved planting fruit trees, growing vegetables, and tending to his flower bushes, creating a space of beauty and peace.

He was a responsible and disciplined man. Gabriel was also known as "Angel Gabriel," a reflection of his kind and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return, touching the lives of many with his quiet acts of kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rosalio Escandon Vazquez, and his brother, Serapio Escandon Sanchez.

He is survived by his significant other, Leandra Gaspar Rete; his daughter, Crystal Escandon; three sons; four daughters; six grandchildren; his mother, Juana Sanchez Quistian; and eight siblings, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on March 22, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home, 6362 South Lee Street, Morrow, GA 30260. A church service will be held on March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at San Felipe de Jesús Catholic Church, 925 Conley Road, Forest Park, GA.

Gabriel will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of kindness and hard work will live on in all who knew him.
