Keith Richard Munson

May 25, 1945 - March 9, 2026

Keith Richard Munson, age 80, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Munson and Carolyn Howland; his son, Kevin Munson; and his sister, Susan Turner.

Keith was a devoted family man who took great pride in being a provider for those he loved. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished the time he spent with them.

A man of many interests, Keith loved music and singing and faithfully sang in the choir at First United Methodist Church of Morrow, where he had been a member since 1975. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching nearly every sport, but he especially loved cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons. His greatest passion in sports was college football, where he proudly supported the Georgia Bulldogs.

Keith also had a deep appreciation for nature. His backyard backed up to the Reynolds Nature Reserve, and he always enjoyed sharing stories about the wildlife he saw there. He especially loved watching birds and spending time outdoors.

In his younger years, Keith was an active runner and participated several times in the Peachtree Road Race.

He also enjoyed playing tennis. Later in life, he found joy in working with numbers, doing math, and solving Sudoku puzzles.

Keith dedicated 40 years of hard work to Ford Motor Company at the Hapeville plant. He often spoke with pride about his career and the years he spent there.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kathy Munson; his daughter, Angela Boone (Michael); his sisters, Paula Chastain and Kathie Dymek (Stanley); his brother, Pete Balckstock (Glynda); his stepson, Anthony Cagle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Morrow First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or if you prefer a memorial donation can be made to Morrow First United Methodist Church.
