Gabrielle C. Cote, 95, of Bedford, NH passed away at Carlyle Place on July 27, 2024, after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester, NH, on April 30, 1929, to the late Joseph and Delia (LeBrun) Bilodeau.
Gabrielle attended Manchester and Goffstown schools. She lived most of her life in Goffstown, NH, with her husband Paul. She devoted her life to raising their three wonderful children, and lovingly tending to her home. She worked in several Manchester factories until she became her husband’s secretary and bookkeeper when he ventured into his own business, Paul A. Cote Roofing & Siding.
As Gabrielle moved into retirement, she and Paul built a home in Spring Hill, FL, where they enjoyed many years of golfing, bowling, cards and dinners with many NH friends. Gabrielle and Paul spent 5 years travelling the continental US in their RV, with their last RV adventure being a trip to Alaska.
Gabrielle was active in Boy Scouts, the Pinardville Lions Club and volunteered at CMC’s Gift Shop. She was a member of the Bedford Craftworkers Guild where she sold hundreds of her knitted and crocheted items. Gabrielle had a passion for decorating, flower gardening and cooking wonderful meals. She was always willing to help everyone, whether it be knitting something special, delivering a meal, babysitting or doing errands.
Gabrielle is survived by her daughters, Barbara Godbout and husband David, and Diane Anderson and husband Chuck; her grandchildren, Stephen Godbout and wife Brandy, Kimberly Perozzi and husband Timothy, Kerry Belcourt, Karen Godbout, Eric Anderson and wife Beckie, and Leigh Nault and husband Joshua; eight wonderful great-grandchildren; and extended family members and friends. Gabrielle was predeceased by her son, Dennis J. Cote, her daughter-in-law, Constance Cote, as well as her beloved husband, Paul A. Cote, who passed in 2023, just prior to celebrating 75 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by all her siblings; one sister and four brothers.
The family greatly appreciates the kindness and care shown by the entire staff at Carlyle Place, especially helping Gabrielle to adjust to life after her husband’s passing. The family would also like to thank the VNA of Manchester for their support.
