Gail Bean Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moore-Cortner Funeral Home - Winchester on Jul. 22, 2024.
Gail Hawkins Bean, age 80 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Gail was born in Oak Ridge on September 26, 1943, to the late Clarence and June (Cabbage) Hawkins. She spent her career working in the healthcare industry as a registered nurse. Her compassion and desire to help others was not only evident through her nursing, but to all who knew her. Gail loved caring for others, but most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. A lifelong learner, she loved gaining knowledge, as well as reading science fiction and mystery books. She loved animals, especially her dogs and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Hawkins. Gail is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Richard Bean of Winchester; sons, Mark (Kara) Bean of Clarksville, and Adam (Jamie) Bean of Chattanooga; brother, Daniel (Becky) Hawkins of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
