Died: August 15, 2025 in McHenry, IL
Gail (McCormack) Bucaro, 74, passed away peacefully at her home on August 15, 2025, in McHenry, IL. Born on March 1, 1951, Gail was known for her radiant personality, marked by a contagious smile and an infectious laugh. Throughout her life, she remained a beacon of kindness and compassion, connecting effortlessly with everyone through her love for music, dancing, and the beauty of nature, including the mountains and the ocean.
Gail graduated from Marian High School, where she was not only Homecoming Queen but also a member of the National Honor Society. She furthered her education at Whitewater, laying the groundwork for a life dedicated to service and community engagement.
Professionally, Gail was a beloved figure at the Plum Garden restaurant, where she worked for over 30 years. Her warmth and welcoming nature made her a favorite among patrons, turning even the simplest meal into a memorable experience.
In her personal life, Gail cherished her role as a grandmother, affectionately known as Gigi, and shared a profound love with her husband, Phillip Bucaro, whom she met and fell in love with in the spring of 1979. She is survived by her devoted husband, Phillip; their 4 children, Megan (Eric) Bennett, Kyle (Julie) Bucaro, Erin (Mark) Weber, and Ryan Bucaro; and her 13 grandchildren, Devin, Riley, Samantha, Daniel, Nathan, Joseph, Wriglee, Emily, Luke, Matt, Skylar, Austin, and Asher. She also leaves behind her sister, Maureen (Jim) Schlobohm; brother, Michael McCormack; sisters-in-law, Bonnie McCormack, Sandra Neff, and Kimberly (George) Trevino and brother-in-law Jack (Carol) Bucaro; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Timothy McCormack, and her brothers, Timothy and Thomas McCormack, as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A private funeral service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's and The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, organizations that were close to Gail's heart.

She was an amazing woman with a heart made of gold who would do anything for her family. She was full of love and positivity and always willing to share it with those around her. The world lost an amazing person way too soon.
