Peacefully, surrounded by her adoring family and friends, Gail Meredith Cohen left this world early Friday morning. An exceedingly humble person - by her own account she "did the best she could with her limited abilities", but to us, she was perfect. Gail was passionate about her family, the theater and canasta, and she was the most amazing, most beautiful, most intelligent, most wise, and most kind and loving person. She battled her terrible disease valiantly and courageously for nine months until her spirit ran free to find her corner of the sky.
A loving wife and partner of 40 years to Eric, adoring mother to Hayley, Zach, and Sydney, elated grandmother to her precious Cooper, cherished and devoted daughter of Mimi and the late Herb Steinberg, beloved sister of Richard and Beth Steinberg, and Michael and Robin Steinberg. Gail had the most incredible circle of friends whom she loved dearly. She had an exceptional gift for connecting deeply and instantly with those who were lucky enough to cross her path and a unique ability to make every single person feel like the only one in the room.
Throughout her life, she inspired those around her with her passion, empathy, zest for life, and devotion to the happiness of others. Gail always led with love. She was a force and advocate for those who couldn't advocate for themselves. She leaves a void that will never truly be filled, but her legacy of compassion above all will live on through the countless people who loved her.
Gail, because we knew you, we have been changed for good.

When I was visiting my late son, Khaliq Sanda in Westport Connecticut , Gail and I went out to dinner. That meant a lot to me. Gail, may your soul rest in peace. When you see Khaliq, give him a special hug for me.
