Sandra Linde Borowik passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at Waveny LifeCare Center in New Canaan, Connecticut.
She was born on July 5, 1937, in Bridgeport, CT, to Sidney and Irene Linde, and was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Linde.
Sandy was the beloved wife of the late Michael Borowik. They met at the age of 16, graduated from UConn, and were married for just shy of 65 years. Together they built a life defined by devotion, partnership, and a deep commitment to family. Their home was the center of family life, filled with warmth, conversation, and lasting connection.
Sandy was a devoted mother to her children, Robert Borowik (Amy) and Lisa Whetsell (Robert). She offered unwavering support, compassion, and guidance, shaping the lives of her family with strength and love.
She especially cherished her role as "Grammy." Her grandchildren, Rebecca, Ian, and Josh, brought her great joy and pride, and she treasured her relationship with each of them.
The family is deeply grateful for the care and kindness Sandy received in her later years. Heartfelt thanks are extended to EasyCare Home Care Agency, especially Althia and Elle, as well as Lana and Constellation Hospice, for their compassion and dedication. The family also expresses sincere appreciation to Waveny LifeCare Center for providing comfort, dignity, and professionalism throughout her care, and to the Temple Sinai community for their support and generosity.
A graveside burial will be held at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Stamford, CT, at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 16. A celebration of life will follow at Temple Sinai at 12 pm, with lunch and shiva immediately afterward.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Sandy's memory.
