With profound sadness, the family of Gail Brandon Dix of Ruidoso, New Mexico, announces her passing on August 21, 2025, at the age of 80, after a long battle with cancer.

Gail was born on November 26, 1944, to Christina (Rolfe) Brandon and Isaac Joe Brandon of Murray, Kentucky. Gail graduated from Calloway County High School in Murray, Kentucky, in 1962. Gail married the love of her life, Arnold Dale Dix, on June 23, 1962, in Murray, Kentucky. Together, they raised three children: Brad Dix, Jason Dix, both of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and Sarah Bullock of Shelley, Idaho. Gail was blessed with three grandchildren, Hunter Sturgeon, Gage Sturgeon, and Jessa Bullock.

During Gail's life, she worked as a bookkeeper, as General Manager of Cree Meadows Golf and Country Club, as a dental practice receptionist, and as a greenhouse grower of ornamental plants and shrubs. Above all, Gail was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring grandmother. Gail possessed the ability to grow just about any plant or crop due to her strong understanding of horticulture, coupled with a green thumb. What she grew the most was respect and love from everyone she encountered. All who came to her home were greeted with a warm smile, and they never left hungry or thirsty. Gail's compassion and desire to help those in need was unrivaled. Her grasp of the human heart and loving understanding for her family, friends, and neighbors was second to none.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Dale Dix; her sisters, Marie Betts and June Lockhart; and her brother, Joe Brandon.

She is survived by her sister, Myra Brandon of Paducah, Kentucky, and her brother, Jack Brandon of Murray, Kentucky. Gail leaves behind a large extended family of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched immensely.

A celebration of life for Gail will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., September 26, 2025, at Cree Meadows Golf and Country Club, 301 Country Club Drive, Ruidoso, New Mexico. Everyone is welcome to come and remember the wonderful life that Gail lived. A similar celebration of life will be held at a later date in Murray, Kentucky.
