Gail Ann Hoffmeyer, 82, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. She was born on January 10, 1944, in Highland Park, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Mackey) Bailey.
Gail grew up vacationing in Northern Michigan since the 1950’s, and she moved to Mancelona permanently in 2006. She was a longtime member of the Fresh Start Wesleyan Church, and her church family was very important to her.
Gail is survived by her son, Derick (Bobbie Sue) Adkins; her stepdaughter, Kim Hoffmeyer; two grandchildren, Skye Marie Adkins, and Jacqueline Kim; two nieces, Sarah Lynn Essenburg, and Beth Troyer; and a nephew, Jerry Kettle.
She was preceded in in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas Hoffmeyer; her brother, Joe Bailey; and her sister, Nancy Pettwey.
There are no services planned at this time.
