Gail LaButte

Lakeland - Her Legacy… Gail Ann LaButte, age 80, passed away June 6, 2021. She was born on July 10, 1940 in Allen Park, MI to Frederick and Arvella (Cousino) Toburen. Gail married the love of her life, Leonard LaButte, on July 14, 1956 in Allen Park, MI. In her spare time, Gail liked to crochet, bake pies, spend time on Zukey Lake, and enjoyed winters in Florida. She was very easygoing and enjoyed hosting parties. Beyond her own eight children, Gail was a mother to many people. Most of all, Gail loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a welcoming and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Gail will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her Family… Gail will be missed by her children, Dan (Debi) LaButte, Jayne (Mark) Lapham, Chris LaButte, Sherry (Kevin) Birk, Patti (Kirk) Waidelich, Kurt (Debbie) LaButte; daughter-in-law, Tanya LaButte; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Jackie Gillis, Bob Toburen, and Bill Toburen. Gail is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard of 62 years; and children, Todd LaButte and Dawn Summers.

Her Farewell… Gail's family and friends will gather on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 3-8PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. Her Community Farewell will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 (1PM Gathering) 2PM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10601 Dexter-Pinckney Rd, Pinckney, MI. Father Dan Kogut will serve as celebrant. Gail will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pinckney. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church.
