Gail Lapara Obituary
Survivors include her two daughters, Kim Lapara David of New Orleans, LA, and Monique Lapara Hibbs, of Walker, LA; two grandchildren, Lauren David and Alexander Hibbs; one brother, Lawrence Weixel Jr. (Elaine Russo Weixel); beloved friends, the Thibodeaux Family, Lorri Wolfe, and Cindy and Pete Bryant of the Tally Ho Club; and her ever so faithful companion dog, Gobby.
Gail was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband for 50 years, NOFD Deputy Chief Donald Lapara Sr.; her son, JPSO Donald Lapara Jr.; sister, Shirley Weixel Riley; nephew, Eric Riley; and her parents, Lawrence Weixel Sr. and Olga Arnold Weixel of Arabi, LA.
Gail was a housewife and a Member of First Assembly of God. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell, LA. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Picayune, MS following services. Arrangements under the direction of Audubon Funeral Home.

My deepest sympathies to Mr. Larry, Ms. Elaine, Kim and Monique. The world has lost another great lady, Ms. Gail, and I´m so blessed to have known her. She was a beloved childhood friend of my Mother, Lydia Wolfe and Ms. Joycelyn Drum. I loved to hear her tell all the funny stories of them growing up. You will be so missed Ms. Gail and I´ll always love you.
