Gail was born on September 7, 1954, in Painesville, OH, to Adam and Carol Weber. She graduated from Mentor High School in 1972 and went on to work for many years in housekeeping and as a housekeeping manager in several area hotels. Later in life, she retired early to spend more time with her beloved grandchildren and took on part-time roles at Best Buy and Lowe's. Gail married Jim McCarthy on November 18, 1977, and together they shared over 50 wonderful years. Their greatest joy was their daughter, Samantha, who was the light of Gail's life.
Gail adored her grandchildren, Hannah and Logan, and cherished every moment spent with them. She loved spoiling them, often taking them to garage sales and the Goodwill to hunt for toys and treasures. Gail loved gardening in her flower beds, enjoying summer days outdoors, and taking trips to the casino. Gail and Jim liked going for drives around the area, looking for turkeys and watching the lake and sunset at Mentor Beach Park.
Friends and family will forever remember Gail for her kindness, selflessness, and compassionate nature. She had a generous heart and found joy in helping others.
Gail is survived by her loving husband, James McCarthy; her brothers David (Paula), Tom, and Jim Weber; her daughter, Samantha Schrenk; her son-in-law, Nick Schrenk; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah (11) and Logan (7), along with many beloved nephews, nieces and friends. She also leaves behind her two devoted dogs, Bo and Charlie, who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Carol Weber; her stepfather, Al Phillips; her niece, Danelle Weber; and her aunt and dear friend, Diane Faust. Waiting to greet her at the Rainbow Bridge are her beloved pets Poncho, Sparky, Lucy, Jazzi, Eddie, Oscar, and Grand Dog Wrigley, who will welcome her with wagging tails.
