Gail Revis Obituary
June 29, 1941 ~ March 20, 2024
Gail passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Harris Regional Hospital from a weary heart that was just too big.
Gail was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and a daughter of the late William Harold and Sadie Deitz Leatherwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Olen Revis and a brother, Bill Leatherwood. Gail graduated from Webster High School in 1959. From there, she entered Memorial Mission Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1962 as a "Mission Belle". During her 50 years of nursing, she offered her special care in Buncombe, Jackson, and Haywood counties. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Mark Revis; her beloved grandson, Harvey Revis, who will always remember his "Nana"; her sister, Karen and brother-in-law, Paul, Ingram; sisters in law, Shirley Moses, Peggy Revis, Nancy Revis, and several nieces, nephews, friends, and her loyal dog, Gypsy.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 84 Green Energy Park, Sylva, NC 28779 or to a charity of one's choice.
