Gail Rozantz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Edder Funeral Home, Inc. - Girard on Dec. 15, 2025.
Gail (Preiss) Rozantz, 70, of Girard died on Friday December 12, 2025 at her home.

She was born on November 25, 1955, a daughter of the late Robert and Shirley (Mae) Preiss.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan, where her father worked for the Ford Motor Company. The family later moved to Alabama when she was a young girl. She was always involved in athletics and enthusiastic about team sports. She held a lifelong commitment to Alabama college football and women's softball - Roll Tide.

She met her soon-to-be husband through mutual friends and moved north with him to the Erie area. Together, they spent the next 38 years enjoying one another and the community. She worked at Cable Masters as the private secretary to the CEO until her retirement.

She had a love for horse racing and often attended events. In addition, through her husband, she became an exceptional target shooter, earning bragging rights many times. In the quiet evening hours, she enjoyed cross-stitching.

Gail had a deep love of history, particularly Civil War history, and took multiple trips and tours of Gettysburg. She was an attendee of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was also a member of, and actively involved in managing, the Erie County Sheriff's Mounted Posse.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their compassionate care over these last days.

She will be greatly missed by her family which include her husband, Walter Richard Rozantz whom she married October 10, 1987; sisters, Joanne Kendrick (David) and Karen Riley (Scott); brothers-in-law, Edward Dalton II and Tom Rozantz; Sisters-in-law, Cheryl Dalton and Cathy Rozantz; nieces and nephews, Alison Kendrick, Evan Kendrick (Bria), Taylor Rozantz, Derrick Rozantz, Raven Rozantz, Erin Dalton (Chris), Andrea Patton (Casey); great nieces and nephews, Oliver Dalton-Nunez, Jack Samuel Nunez, and Elsie Dalton-Nunez.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Hospice, 2206 West 15th St., Erie, PA, 16505.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
