Mrs. Gail Botkin Silva, age 70, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Silva, the daughter of Glenwood and Recie Chasteen Botkin, was born in Berea on Monday, March 28, 1955. She loved to spend time with her family and travel to see the ocean. She enjoyed watching sports with her husband, Paul, especially the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and UK basketball and football. Her greatest concern was helping others, and her great love was for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Gail was united in marriage to Paul William Silva on Friday, July 11, 2003, who survives.
In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Silva is survived by her son: Eric (& Jennifer) Whittemore, her daughter: Angela Whittemore, her granddaughter: Lauren Whittemore, one brother: Glen (& Lisa) Botkin, her sister: Sandra (& Shannon) Link; one step-son: Daniel Silva, one step-daughter: Chelsea (& Logan) Brooks and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Mrs. Silva was preceded in death by her brother Dale Botkin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Edwin Lainhart officiating.
Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eric Whittemore, Brian Chasteen, Darryl Coffey, Dean Coffey, Danny Ballinger and Sandra Link.
Honorary pallbearer will be Shannon Link.
