With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Gail Lynn Sivar (Dymond). She passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2025, at her home in Dymond Hollow, Pa., surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 3, 1948, Gail was the daughter of Stanley and Maud Dymond. She was a graduate of Dallas High School and made her home on the family farm for her entire life, a place where family, love, tradition and nature were always in full bloom.
A devoted wife, mother, Grammy, daughter, sister and aunt, Gail found greatest joy in her family, love of animals and the beauty of the natural world. As a young woman, she supported her family through baking and designing beautiful floral arrangements, early signs of the creativity and care she brought to every aspect of her life. She dedicated over 25 years to Ollie's Family Restaurant, where her work ethic and warm smile made everyone feel at home. In retirement, she continued to nurture her creative spirit, crafting thoughtful handmade gifts from the heart and making lasting memories with her children, grandchildren and furry friends.
Gail was preceded in death by both of her beloved husbands, Ernest W. Barber in 1967 and Martin M. Sivar in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Stanley A. and Maud E. Dymond, and her sister, Fay Randazzo.
She is survived by her devoted children: Kimberly D. Priestash, whose beloved husband, John Priestash, preceded the family in 2022; Ernest W. Barber Jr. and his wife, Christina, and their children, Maddie and Collin; and Michelle L. Strassman, wife of Eric Strassman, and their sons, Max and Jacob; and nieces and nephew.
She is also survived by her cherished twin brother, Gary Dymond, with whom she shared a lifetime of laughter, memories and unbreakable sibling love.
Her beloved dog, Cody, was never far from her side and brought her daily comfort and companionship, especially in her final years.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a service to celebrate Gail's life at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, in the Dymond Hollow Community Church, Church Road, Harding.
