Publish in a newspaper

Gail E. Swayne, 78, formerly of Peoria Heights, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.
She was born on January 7, 1947, to Ernest and Ruth Keigley in Mendota, IL. Gail married James B. Swayne on September 12, 1980, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 26, 2018.
Gail is survived by her son, Dean (Kristine) McDonald of Muncie, IN; daughter, Dawn Mannino of Morton, IL; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Gail will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, deeply nurturing personality, and boundless kindness. Her intense joy was evident to all who knew her; her laughter was so special it was truly impossible not to smile along with her. Gail was a profoundly nurturing soul, always putting others before herself with endless kindness and empathy. She cherished spending time with family and friends, finding happiness in gathering for holiday meals or simply by offering a supportive and attentive listening ear.
Cremations rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at The Wilton Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gail's name may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter (100 TAPS Lane, Pekin, IL 61554).
