With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, and adoring grandmother, Gail F. (Frantz) Yasson, 74, of Lansford, Pennsylvania, who peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Born on May 28, 1951, in Coaldale, Gail was the daughter of the late Calvin J. Frantz and Diane M. (Rickmers) Frantz-Cipyak. Gail lived a life full of love, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. She brought joy to all who knew her through her kindness, strength, and generous spirit.
Gail is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gregory Yasson; her son, Scott Ryan Yasson; her daughter, Samantha Rose, wife of Nicholas Anthony; her sisters, Sandy J. Koch, wife of Kevin, and Sherri D. Neifert, wife of Lenny; and her cherished grandson, Nicholas Austin Rose. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Dana Neifert and Lesley Kellogg, wife of Aaron, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
A 1969 graduate of Panther Valley High School, Gail went on to Brandywine College in Delaware, where she earned a degree in fashion merchandising. After graduation, she worked at the Hess flagship store in downtown Allentown, where her love for fashion and people shined.
Gail was a devoted stay-at-home mom until her children entered school, after which she became the Truant Officer for the Panther Valley School District, a role she held with dedication and pride.
Never one to turn down a trip to the grocery store, Gail found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed gardening, cooking family recipes, and took pride in displaying her favorite fern hanging plants in the summer and mums in the fall. She especially loved baking birthday cakes for her children’s birthdays; a tradition filled with love and sweetness. Gail also had a passion for reading novels, often losing herself in the pages of a good book. Her warmth, creativity, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed.
