Garey Lynn Faries
Garey Lynn Faries of Puxico, Missouri was born April, 9, 1940 in Cobb Junction, Missouri, to the late Carmon and Mildred (Cookson) Moore, and passed away on June 11, 2025, in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 85 years old.
Garey had lived his whole life in Puxico and attended the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church outside of Puxico, Missouri. Garey was united in marriage to Cheryl Buchanan in Puxico, Missouri and she survives the home. Garey loved to fish and hunt and he rebuilt old cars in his spare time. He was a teacher at the Puxico High School and taught auto collision repair. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving family include: his wife, Cheryl of Puxico, Missouri, 6 children: Troy Lynn (Holly) Faries of Troy, Missouri, Sherry Trout of Puxico, Missouri, Glenn Hodge of Puxico, Missouri, Jamie (Shawnta) Hodge of Dexter, Missouri, Joey Faries of Puxico, Missouri, and Wesley (Maria) Faries of Puxico, Missouri. Garey had 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 16 nieces and 9 nephews. He had 2 brothers: Stan Faries of Oswego, Illinois, Steve Faries of Keystone Heights, Florida and 1 sister: Tryna Groat of Royal Palm Beach, Florida/Arnold, Missouri.
Garey was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Gerland Moore and Dewayne Moore and 1 daughter-in-law, Tammy Hodge.
