Garrett Paul Bromley

Garrett Paul Bromley, retired banker and proud Vietnam War veteran, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, after a long illness. He was 80 years old.
Born in Pensacola, Florida to Paul and Elaine Cassler Bromley, Garrett lived a full and colorful life. A natural storyteller and the life of every party, he had a magnetic charm and quick wit that brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
Garrett spent most of his professional life in the banking industry, where he was known not just for his sharp mind, but for his honesty and deep commitment to helping others succeed. After retirement, he embraced the freedom to explore-traveling the world with Deborah, his beloved wife of 26 years. Whether it was winding through the Rockies, basking in the Caribbean sun, river cruising through Europe, or driving off the beaten path just to see where the road led, Garrett cherished every journey.
Though he loved the ocean and found joy on the golf course, Garrett's heart belonged to the open range. A cowboy in spirit, he had a deep respect for the land, animals, and the simple, rugged beauty of country life. Horses held a special place in his heart, as did every dog who ever followed him home.
Garrett also had a lifelong love affair with the sun-so much so that sunburns were often an unintended souvenir of his favorite days. Whether on a boat deck or in a beach chair with a cold drink in hand, he was happiest with the sun on his face and the sky wide open above him.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Coyle; his son, Glenn Bromley; his brother, Richard Bromley; and his grandchildren: Kyra Meringer, Kennedy Coyle, Chelsea Coyle, Cheyenne Coyle, Sloane Bromley, and Evan Bromley. His legacy of love, humor, and adventure will live on in them.
A celebration of Garrett's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick County.
