Gloria J. Cuddy, 91 of Oak Island, NC passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025.
Gloria was born in Farrell, Pennsylvania and moved to Hudson, Massachusetts as a teenager. She met the love of her life,James Cuddy at a church dance. They glided along the dance floor of life together for 57 years until his passing. As a loving mother of four, she was an outspoken advocate for her children.
She had a talent for the arts and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, crafting and painting. Her favorite hobbies were playing bingo, cards, golfing, square dancing, the slots machines and riding her yellow tricycle. Gloria was a colorful individual in both spirit and appearance. She will be remembered for her brightly colored matching outfits, stylish hats and bold jewelry. Not one to filter her words, Gloria leaves behind a vast list of humorous retorts and colloquialisms that will live on for generations.
Gloria was the daughter of the late Leveda Lemack and Joseph Evans. Family members that will miss her dearly include her brother Bruce Lemack (Teresa), sisters Patricia Eagen and Debbie Evans, daughters Lynn Hefele (Stephen), Lorie Massa (Louis), her grandchildren Harrison Hefele (Amanda), Travis Hefele (Taylor), Marycatherine Massa (Michael) and Emma Massa (Chris) and great grandchildren Emery Hefele and Trey Hefele. She was preceded in death by her husband James Cuddy, sons Shawn Cuddy and Jamie Cuddy, and brothers, Ronald Evans, Paul Evans and Gary Evans.
Her life will be celebrated in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association.
