Garrett LaHay, age 38 of St. Paul, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20th. He was a cherished father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Garrett was born on July 25th, 1987, in St. Louis Park to Jeffrey and Mary (Sheck) LaHay. He graduated from St. Louis Park High School and went on to become a proud journeyman plumber, who was known for his meticulous and fast work on the job. In 2015, Garrett married Molly (Stark), and they spent 10 years building a beautiful home and community in St. Paul. In 2022 they welcomed their daughter, Sylvie Loretta, who was the joy of Garrett’s life. Garrett was a true caregiver who loved nothing more than making food to share with others, often using ingredients he harvested from his well-maintained gardens. He also loved listening to music, playing guitar, gardening, camping, and a good glass of whiskey. Most of all, though, he loved spending time with Molly and Sylvie.

Garrett was preceded in death by grandparents, Loretta & Clarence LaHay and Jeanne & Will Sheck.

His memory will live on in his adoring wife and daughter; his loving parents; brother, Collin (Amanda) LaHay; parents-in-law, David & Erin Phelps-Stark, brother-in-law, Kyle (Laura) Stark; niece and nephew, Koven and Sullivan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him greatly.

There will be a memorial gathering where friends and family can gather to reminisce and share memories of Garrett from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 26th at Gabe’s Bar & Kitchen, 991 Lexington Pkwy. N., St. Paul, MN.

Interment will be private at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Sheck, Michael Sheck Jr., Jeremy Wiles, Collin LaHay and Kyle Stark.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
