Garrett Wade Rice

Garrett Wade Rice, 22 month old son of Ethan Garrett and Sarah Jayne (Pearson) Rice of Burlington, Kansas, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington from injuries suffered in a tragic ranch accident at his home.
Garrett was full of life and love for everyone beyond his age. He shared that love by being an organ donor, passing on life to others.
He leaves his parents, Ethan and Sarah; his three year old sister, Josephine Grace Rice; maternal grandparents, Ron and Jayne Pearson of Burlington, KS; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Pam Rice of Waverly, KS; maternal great-grandmother, June Pearson of Paul's Valley, OK; paternal great-grandmother, Patty Pegram of Waverly, KS; aunts Deana Pearson (Cory Barbour) of Independence, MO, and Katelyn Haddock (Cody) of Waverly, KS; honorary uncles, Henry Ott and Mark Ott; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Mark and Doris Hack, and Lon Pearson, and paternal great-grandparents, Calvin Pegram, Raymond and Coleen Rice.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Burlington Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery at Burlington. There will be no visitation.
