Garrett David Morgan Shackleford, 21, of Roanoke, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Garrett was welcomed into Heaven by his biological parents, Anthony and Stephanie; his grandparents, David and Joyce; and many other beloved family members who went before him.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, his parents, Andy Shackleford, Lisa Shackleford, fiancée Amanda; his sweet baby boy; siblings, Leaya, AJ, Zen, Leighanna, Alina, Adalind, JJ, CJ, and Kayleigh; grandparents, Greg and Teresa Shackleford; Uncle Jeff and Aunt Renee; his close cousins, Katie and Mason; and many other close friends and family.

Garrett was a fun-loving, free-spirited goofball with the biggest heart. He loved to make people laugh and always knew how to brighten a room. He had a deep love for family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them. Garrett enjoyed video games, board games, and card games, but one of his greatest joys was fishing, a hobby that brought him peace and happiness.

Garrett's love and laughter were his gift to the world, and they will be carried forward by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Garrett's life will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 2:00pm at Bonsack United Methodist Church, 4493 Bonsack Rd NE, Roanoke, VA 24012.

A reception will follow directly after service, The family is asking for anyone who would like to, to bring a covered dish and have a potluck celebration in honor of Garrett.
