Stokes - William "Dennis" Shackleford, 67, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025.

The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 am at Bethel PH Church. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 3, from 5-7pm at the church.

Dennis was born in Snow Hill, NC to parents Betty and Jessie Shackleford. He survived by his wife, Kathy Shackleford, her sons Adam and Robby Jones. Dennis also survived by his son, Blake (Nicole) Shackleford. Dennis came from a large family that included his grandchildren, Michaela (Chase) Johnson, Megan (Luke) Williamson, Makenna (Dylan) Morris, Cutler and Carly Jones, Shayna Deal, Kadence and Corbin Shackleford and his first great grandbaby, Bridger "little bug" Morris. He also survived by his sister, Betty Jo Fields and her beautiful family along with other nieces and nephews.

Dennis preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Shackelford. Sister, Linda Kay Whitfield, brother, Dinky and wife Gail Shackelford, nephew, Scott Whitfield, brother in-law, Stem Fields and his lovely bonus mom, Johnnie Dail.

Dennis spent his adult life in the Greenville area. He ran a construction business by the name of Big Time Home Improvement for 25 years. He, his wife Kathy and their ride or die partner Biscuit loved NASCAR, camping, the mountains and ocean. Dennis loves his children with all his heart. He loves his grandchildren and great grandchild maybe a little more. Dennis had never met a stranger. He had the biggest heart of anyone you will ever meet and was never farther than a phone call away. Even though we know he is rejoicing with the Lord we are heartbroken and will continue out his legacy.
