Garry Black Obituary
Garry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children–LaShanya J. Jefferson, Jerome DeClouet, Roger D. Price, and Terrilyn Jefferson; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings–Walter Black Sr. (Shelia), and Grace Black; and a host of loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents–Jake Black Sr. and Mable Black; brother–Jake Black; and sisters–Charlene and Charmaine Black.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Garry's Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church, 14747 LA-23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037. Pastor Joseph Brooks will officiate.
The family has requested the presence of members of First Agape Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Crescent City School, Bayside Health Center, and Total Community Action Inc.
The Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. The Interment will follow at Bayhi Cemetery, 15187 Hwy. 23, Belle Chasse, LA 70037.
Professional Arrangements are entrusted to Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche St., New Orleans, LA 70114.
