Celebrating the Life of Pastor Garry Moore, Sr.

Pastor Garry Moore, Sr. transitioned from this life on January 16, 2026, at 10:43 PM at Deaconness Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on June 13, 1960, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to Charles Moore of Woodland, California and the late Aliece Moore.

Pastor Moore was a gifted songwriter, singer, and guitarist who wrote over 300 songs, producing many of them. Much of his life was devoted to writing and producing music, studying the Word of God, and faithfully teaching God's people. In his 65 years on this side of heaven, Pastor Moore accomplished more than could ever by fully listed in one tribute.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, First Lady Carmen Moore; his father, Charles Moore of Woodland, California; one son, Garry Moore, Jr. (wife Natasha) of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; two daughters, Sophia Moore of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Anivea Blalock (Terrance) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a special son, Willie Meredith; and a special niece, Rosa Delgado. Pastor Moore also leaves to cherish his memory 14 grandchildren: Bryce Hunter, Zhaaqil Jones, Torean Moore, Zhakira Jones, Sanae Moore, A'deson Jones, Jamia Moore, Jaliah Moore, Damani Cayce, Adelajah Moore, Elijah, Moore, Ta'Aurie Miller, Jaljah Moore and Aunajae Moore; 3 great grandchildren, Kalani Dunson-Moore, Trulei Baker and Zyalani Jones. He is further survived by six sisters: Joyce Moore, Marilyn Shipp-Gary, Darlene Moore, Aletha Thomas, Tammy Thomas and Nichole Hollenkamp; three brothers: Maurice Moore, Harvey Webb and Timothy Moore; one special brother/cousin, Pastor Allen Rudd; a special brother-in-law, Minister Emerson Henderson (Janice); and the entire Evangelistic Outreach Christian Center (E.O.C.C.) congregation, whom he loved dearly.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone for the role you played in Pastor Moore's life.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, B.J. Rawls (Mama Lucy); his loving mother, Aliece Moore; and a very special aunt, Berniece Rudd (Howard).

Funeral service will be held on January 24, 2026 at 11;00 A.M. at Evangelistic Outreach Christian Center at 1407 South 11th Street in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. There will be no repast, per the families request. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made to assist the First Lady Carmen Moore with expenses and her next journey.
