Ardith, Kirsten, and family - I'm sorry to hear about Garry. I've been thinking about him and our water aerobics classes. How gracious and kind he was to drive me to class after my foot surgery. And just all the wonderful conversations we had. He was truly a wonderful person.

Dear Ardith, Kristen and Karen and family.
Sorry to learn of Garry's passing. I met Garry at SHS
and I met Ardith at Terra Linda. Garry was a inspirational Biology Teacher and he was really into
nature. I went w/ Garry on Sea Animal from Portland to Ketchikan which took 4 days in 1974.
I was into sailboats while Garry and his family
were commercial fisherman in SE Alaska during
their summers. Wrestling was also a topic we shared. Garry will definitely be missed but never
forgotten. My God Bless and comfort the Stensland
family.
Lots of love.

Stens was my wrestling coach in high school and later my teammate when we both wrestled AAU for the Multnomah Club. Although he was the assistant wrestling coach at school, he knew much more than the head coaches and shared his knowledge to help us young guys succeed. He was a very kind and generous man with an outstanding wrestling career of his own. I feel that I am a much better person for having known him and I am deeply honored to be able to say that he was my very good friend. I will miss him greatly and will always smile when I remember the super times we had together. He was a one in a million guy that you could not help but respect and admire. Today the bell is tolling for all of us who knew him.

Mr. Stensland was one of my favorite teachers at Sunset High School. I graduated in 1969, but still remember his enthusiasm for science. May his memory be a blessing.
