Gary Cobb Allsbrook Sr.

Gary Cobb Allsbrook Sr., passed away at his home on August 16, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on May 31, 1959, at Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck, Gary lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for the outdoors.
From a very young age, Gary was known for his strong work ethic. Like his grandfather, Alton Cobb, Gary was a farmer. He was also a heavy equipment operator, where he notably contributed to the creation of the ponds at Sylvan Heights Bird Park. His career also included many years of service with EMS, as a logger, and a valued foreman at Ashland Construction, where he helped build the Food Lion shopping center in Scotland Neck, among other projects.
Gary always enjoyed a round of golf at his favorite course, Scotfield Country Club. His love for the outdoors was evident in his appreciation for the river and the companionship of his beloved dog, Maggie, who was always by his side. His life was a testament to the values of hard work and dedication, which he instilled in those around him especially his son, GC.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Lee Allsbrook Sr. Gary is survived by his loving mother, Audrey Cobb Arnold of Clayton; his son, GC Allsbrook, and fiancée Kira Hopkins of Scotland Neck; his sister, Marion Young, and her husband Bob of Clayton; his brother, David Allsbrook Jr. and his wife Deborah; his grandson, Nicolas Lee Allsbrook; many nieces and nephews and his sidekick, Maggie, who will all miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 5pm at the Cobb Family Cemetery, 3429 Phillips Road, Scotland Neck, with Rev. Dusty Sprouse officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at 921 Bells Bridges Road, Scotland Neck, NC 27874.
