Gary G. Amboyer, 78, of North East, passed away on Thursday October 9, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on January 13, 1947 in Titusville, Pennsylvania to the late George and Frieda (Burdick) Amboyer.
Gary graduated high school in 1965, attended the University of Pittsburgh, and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era serving in the United States Navy and the United States Army.
He was employed as an electrician at General Electric for 34 years until retirement in 2002. Gary was also the charter captain of the Road Runner on Lake Erie for 34 years and was also a self-employed construction builder for several years.
Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years Diane Arlene (Taylor) Amboyer; sister, Jan Wooliscroft of Edinboro; brother, Paul Amboyer (Debbie) of North East; special nephew, Joe Amboyer of North East; and special great-nephew, Dylan Amboyer of North East.
Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Tuesday October 14th from 2:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Full Military Honors. Officiating the service is Pastor Patti Kuna. Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Service of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428 or the American Lung Association of PA, 3524 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506/ Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
