Gary W. Barker

Gary W. Barker, age 70, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, after a long, hard-fought battle surrounded by his loved ones.

Gary was born October 24, 1954, in Richmond, Indiana, to William I. Barker and Barbara Bell Suleski. He was self-made and a man of many hats.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Belinda Barker; daughters, Angela Barker, Amber Craft, and Alexia Barker; son, William Barker; granddaughter, Alexia; grandsons, Dustin, Tomi, Nathan, and Justin; 3 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson; sisters, Debra (Howard) McClanahan, and Julia Schoemaker, both from Richmond; half-brother, Joel Salomon, from New York; many nieces and nephews; special brother in laws, Mark Baker and Howard McClanahan, who weren't brothers by blood, but brothers by heart; and best friends, Danny Neel, Rick Wise, and Mike Cox.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Ehrlich; brother, Johnny Barker; son in law, Robert Samples; and his best friends, Fritz Schoemaker and Bill Wise.

Visitation for Gary W. Barker will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in King Cemetery.
